Corporate Finance and Modeling (EFIN515)

This course provides a rigorous and practical introduction to the core principles of corporate finance and their application through financial modeling. Designed for executive FinTech students, the curriculum bridges fundamental theory with modern practice, addressing the critical financial decisions faced by firms in a technologically evolving landscape. The course begins with a refresher on foundational concepts such as financial statement analysis and the time value of money. We then advance to the primary challenges of the financial manager: project evaluation (capital budgeting), firm valuation, and the determination of an optimal capital structure. A significant emphasis is placed on a hands-on, case-based learning approach. Students will individually analyze real-world business problems and construct financial models to support their strategic recommendations.
