Corporate Finance (FIN501)

This course provides a rigorous introduction to the theory and practice of corporate finance, with valuation serving as the central framework for financial decision-making. Core topics include the time value of money, asset valuation, capital budgeting, the cost of capital, capital structure, and payout policy. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the economic principles underlying these concepts and their implications for firm value.

Through analytical problem solving, financial modeling, and the use of financial and market data, students will develop the ability to evaluate investment and financing decisions, quantify risk and required returns, and assess the financial consequences of alternative corporate policies. The course is designed to strengthen students’ command of corporate finance fundamentals while developing transferable skills in valuation, quantitative analysis, financial judgment, and the clear communication of financially grounded recommendations.
